I set up an Arch Linux virtual machine today on VMWare Workstation. Last week, I wrote about how I didn't do so well on a Linux technical interview (https://leveragenotes.substack.com/p/course-correcting-my-interview-prep). I now have a VM for me to do more Linux practice. I chose Arch because of how minimal it is and the amount of configuration required in the terminal. The Arch wiki is pretty well written. No complaints there. Navigating the software download center to download VMware Workstation was a lot harder than installing Arch!
